shoutout to all our policemen, firemen, doctors, nurses, and garbage men. you deserve a star!
When we were young and innocent, we once thought the only way to become a hero was to kill the bad and slash our swords to protect our people. But these things do not exist. People do not kill other people to protect them; they do it because of human’s evil desires. No is ever strong enough to defend the helpless because of the constant battles they fight within themselves.
Every day, hundreds of different calamities are happening all over the world – fires, earthquakes, murders, typhoons, everything imaginable occurs. When these catastrophes happen who do we first look up to? Who do we first look for? Who do we first call? Our dear policemen, firemen, doctors and even garbage men.
Like fairy tale heroes, these men and women decide to put others before them, and not everyone is willing to do that. They choose to go out and secure the lives of strangers who mean nothing to them instead of sleeping and having fun.
But once again, like these fairy tale heroes, we think these people are invincible. We believe that they do not need our help and rest is a word they are oblivious to. But they are still human beings. They too need to be protected.
Our real-life heroes do not just deserve our gratitude, they also deserve to be pampered and cared and of course, loved. We shall never fail to make way for them in times of trouble and provide them aid in their times of need.
As you can see, anyone can be a hero. Swords and crowns are just mere symbolisms of these things. All you have to do is to let go of your cynical self and choose to put other people first.
